In response to a pressing national need at this critical time, the NCA was established on November 29, 2003 in Washington, D .C. by a nationwide group of grassroots activists, community leaders, professionals, and academics, to construct an independent national umbrella organization to serve all Arab Americans.

Founding Conference
The organization was formally founded on May 13-15, 2005 at the NCA Founding Conference. It was during this historic conference that the NCA mission, bylaws and charters were ratified and approved. To view the NCA Founding Conference announcement, go here.

Membership
In addition to individual membership, the NCA also seeks to coordinate the efforts of existing Arab American organizations with the hope of collectively formulating a much-needed national vision in this difficult era.
